RAU noise barriers: costs and factors

Green noise barriers offer a variety of benefits. They create visual barriers between busy roads or industrial areas and the adjacent environment and protect residential areas from car and rail traffic noises. Moreover, RAU’s green noise barriers are 100 percent ecological. Thus, the noise protection with its natural look provides a plant-lined ambience and creates both visual and acoustic barriers.

This is what noise barriers by RAU offer you

The noise barriers by RAU are convincing not only because of their low prices, but also because of their sustainable properties. They are…

  • fine dust reductive
  • low maintenance
  • cost-effective
  • highly absorbent
  • 100 percent ecological

To build the right noise barrier for your needs, our engineers assess the conditions before construction begins. This includes, among other things, space, location, and wall height. In this way, we can plan and build a customised, eco-friendly sound barrier for you, too, to specifically meet your specifications.

What costs should you expect for your construction project?

The price of the noise barrier depends on various factors, such as size, type of construction, difficulties during the construction process, but also on which product you choose.

What does a noise barrier cost?

The cost of your wall by RAU depends on a variety of different factors. For a definitive price, you are welcome to request a consultation from our team of experts. We combine sustainable construction with appealing design and comprehensive technical knowledge. All that before, during and after the construction of your modular noise barrier. The greened sound insulation is built from UV-safe materials and is particularly corrosion-resistant, saving you high maintenance costs. A RAU sound barrier is thus, in many respects, a sustainable investment.

What factors influence the cost of noise barriers?

Every structure is unique and must be individually adapted to the environmental conditions. This applies to houses as well as to noise barriers. There are several factors that significantly influence the cost and duration of construction and installation. These include:

  • The model you choose
  • Dimensions and geometry
  • The type of foundation
  • Accessibility and reachability of the building lot
  • The condition of the building ground
  • Climate and weather conditions such as wind and earthquake zones

Factor 1: Your RAU product choice

At RAU, you can choose from a variety of noise barriers that are adapted on site to suit the specific conditions and are thus precisely designed for the needs prevalent on site. Choose between:

Depending on which of the above noise barriers you choose, the costs may vary. We will work with you to find out which model best suits your requirements.

Factor 2: Dimension and geometry of your sound barrier

Other important factors in determining the price are the dimension as well as the geometry of the noise barrier you choose. Depending on the surroundings, the subsoil, and the area requirements, we will adjust the length and height of the sound wall for you. Furthermore, the number of corners as well as individual adjustments through height projections can play a role.

Factor 3: Type of foundation

As far as the type of foundation is concerned, you can decide between deep foundations and shallow foundations. While special heavy construction machinery is required to lay deep foundations – also known as pile foundations – making the construction therefore comparatively cost-intensive, shallow foundations are very inexpensive. For this, individual foundations are poured into a gravel base layer. The RAU climate wall using a shallow foundation is an example of a low-cost variant of green barriers.

Factor 4: Accessibility during construction

Is the construction site of your noise barrier accessible with heavy earth-moving machinery? Or are the access and construction conditions difficult, which is why alternative construction methods must be used, requiring longer construction times at the same time? The cost of constructing your RAU noise barrier depends on the accessibility of the ecological wall.

Other factors that influence the price of your noise barrier

In addition to the product you choose, the dimensions and geometry, the type of foundation and accessibility, other external factors also enter the cost calculation:

  • Space conditions: How easy is it to build the sight and sound barrier in the location you want?
  • Ground conditions: What machinery and foundation will be needed?
  • Wind zones: How will the weather conditions on site affect the future noise barrier?
  • Earthquake zones: Is the construction site geographically located in an earthquake zone?

The RAU climate wall (R3): Costs and advantages

The noise barrier RAU climate wall (R3), which is up to twelve metres high, has the advantage that approx. 98 percent of the material used can be obtained directly on the construction site. Conversely, this means that transport is inexpensive, allowing you to save costs compared to other models. This culminates in another advantage of the RAU R3: The short transport routes result in particularly low CO2 emissions. With the RAU climate wall, you both save money and – even more than with the other environmentally friendly designs – protect the environment.

The cost of your noise barrier: Your advantages with RAU

Since each noise barrier is individually planned, produced, and built, the prices also vary. The question of costs does therefore not have a general answer. We will be happy to advise you on your questions or plan your specific and individually adapted noise barrier with you. Please use our contact form for your enquiry or call us +49 (0)30 397 488 64.
